Our Story

Seafood Haven has been a beloved part of the Misquamicut Beach community since its founding in 1993 by longtime restaurateur and radio host Bob Barber. Originally located at 668 Atlantic Avenue, the restaurant quickly gained a reputation for fresh, delicious seafood served in a welcoming beachside atmosphere.

In 1999, Bob brought on Caswell Cooke as a partner—Caswell had been with Seafood Haven since the beginning, and together, the two expanded the restaurant’s legacy over the next two decades.

After 25 successful years at the original location, our landlord passed away and we found ourselves without a location. Seafood Haven took a new direction and became a mobile unit on Winnapaug Road, known as Seafood Haven II. While it was an ambitious effort, it wasn’t the ideal setup the team had envisioned. That led to a more streamlined venture as The Haven Express, a concession stand at Dunes Park, where we proudly served beachgoers for six seasons.

Now, in 2025, we are thrilled to announce the return of the full Seafood Haven experience. Reborn as Caswell’s Seafood Haven, we are located at 300 Atlantic Avenue—just steps from the surf in Misquamicut. We’re open daily in-season from 11am to 9pm, offering both indoor and outdoor dining, as well as takeout service.
